Social Media Policy
Kids Adventurist upholds the immense value of social engagement through social media while recognising the need to protect the privacy and safeguard the welfare of the children and parents who are part of our community.
Our responsibility extends to maintaining the integrity of Kids Adventurists standing. As representatives of Kids Adventurist, staff and volunteers members are expected to embody the groups ethos in all public forums, extending beyond the confines of their professional roles.
This policy extends to, but is not limited to, platforms such as:
Twitter
Facebook
YouTube
TikTok
Personal blogs and websites
Public commentary on external sites
Social Media Guidelines
In navigating social media, staff are implored to adhere to the following directives:
Refrain from publishing content that could tarnish the reputation of Kids Adventurist.
Avoid sharing any material that may cause discomfort or harm to colleagues, parents, or children affiliated with our group.
Do not disclose any images or content that can identify children or the specifics of the settings environment. Official communications may utilise images or videos where identities are obscured to respect confidentiality.
Abstain from releasing real-time updates or content that could reveal the location or activities of children at any given moment.
Should not establish connections with parents on social platforms (such as accepting friend requests on Facebook) unless there is an existing personal relationship.
Matters concerning children or Kids Adventurist should be discussed in person at the group or through direct communication with the Manager for urgent concerns, rather than through social media channels.
Any staff or volunteer found in violation of these guidelines by sharing restricted content, comments that breach confidentiality, or damaging the groups image or that of its staff or volunteers, will be subject to disciplinary consequences.
Confidential information from private staff accounts must remain inaccessible to anyone not authorised or connected within personal friend and follower networks.
General Advice for Social Media Use
When engaging on any social media platform, it is prudent to bear in mind:
Social media platforms implement age restrictions for use; these should be respected.
The security of information disseminated over the internet can never be fully guaranteed; if there is reluctance for information to become public, it is best not to share it online.
Images and information released into the public sphere have the potential for perpetual existence—remembrance on the internet is indelible.
