Family Night Walk

We invite you and your family to join us on Saturday, 19th October, at 5.30 pm for our Kids Adventurist Family Night Walk from Saltdean.

This is one for families to get involved in as we explore the wonders of the great outdoors after dark, together and is a great opportunity for us all to get up close and personal with nature in a new and exciting way.

During the walk, we will lead you and your children through the "wilds" of Saltdean and hopefully see and hear some of our local nightlife... if we're quiet enough. If not, it will be an excellent experience for the kids anyway ;-)

We'll meet as the sun sets and begin our walk towards the Tye.

Our eyes will slowly adjust to the night sky above us as we make our way across to the open fields. If we're lucky, we'll have a clear sky and will pause for a bit to watch the star-lit sky.

On our return, we'll stop to listen for any sounds of nocturnal animals and see if we can spot any owls or bats flying overhead.

We'll circle back along the tracks we made at dusk as the Wanning Gibbous Moon rises and lights our way back to the start.

We can't wait to share this exciting experience with you and your family! Come join Kids Adventurist for a night of wonder and discovery in the great outdoors.

When: Saturday 19th October

Time: 5.30-7pm approx

Where: Meeting at the Scout Hut on Longridge Avenue, Saltdean. Map is here.

Important INformation

Parking: There is plenty of free parking nearby, please be considerate of our neighbours and do not block any driveways.

Distance / Time: The walk will be approximately 2.5 - 3 kilometres and last 1.5-2 hours depending on the weather.

Pre-walk food: We highly recommend you feed your kiddos before the walk, so that they have enough energy to get around the walk.

Snacks & Drinks: Bring with you some snacks and drinks for the duration. Particularly maybe a few treats to get the kiddos back to the start.

Clothing / Footwear: We recommend wearing comfortable walking shoes or boots and warm layers as it can get chilly at night. Bring a flashlight or headlamp too. We are aiming to go with no lights as our eyes will adjust to the surrounding, but should we need to we can easily light up our paths.

Your responsibility

This event is open to all ages, but we do ask that you keep an eye on your children throughout the walk. We also ask that you stick to the designated paths and not wander off onto the farm fields nearby.
