Half Term Kids Adventurist

Two Days of Adventure at Kids Adventurist 🌧️☀️🌲

What a whirlwind two days it’s been at Kids Adventurist! If you're after a tale of resilience, muddy puddles, and marshmallow-fuelled fun, you’re in for a treat. Grab a cuppa, this is one to savour.

Day 1 – Rain, Mud, and Smiles 🌧️

The skies opened. Then they opened some more. Honestly, at one point, it felt like we needed an ark. But did the kids give up? Not a chance. Drenched to their socks and with hair plastered to their faces, these little champs weren’t fazed one bit.

They ran through puddles like they were starring in their own action movie. They climbed, made bracelets, built mini shelters, and even threw spears. Fingers might’ve been freezing, but you wouldn’t have known it from the way they kept laughing and cheering each other on.

We had to make a few changes on the fly (a no-tools day, for obvious soggy reasons), but the kids were troopers. Problem-solving, creative thinking, teamwork – the lot. They looked out for each other and turned a rain-soaked forest into their own playground. Honestly, it was one of those days that reminds you why the woods are so magical. Exhausting, muddy, utterly brilliant.

Now… could someone please turn off the rain for tomorrow? Cheers.

Day 2 – Sunshine, Saws, and Snacks 🌞🔥

Oh, the relief when we saw the sun peeking through the trees this morning. What a difference a bit of warmth makes!

Armed with knives, saws, and a healthy dose of enthusiasm, the kids set to work. There were spears, bows and arrows, and even some pretty impressive wooden cars knocking about. Sure, there were a few “this isn’t going how I planned” moments, but nobody gave up. Hands were steady, knots were tied (and re-tied), and the pride on their faces as they showed us their creations? Absolute gold.

The fun didn’t stop there. We played Eagle’s Nest (if you're unfamiliar, think stealth mode meets giggles), built forts, and stoked the fire to keep it going for marshmallow toasting and even a bit of popcorn popping. I mean, is it even forest school without fire-warmed snacks?

The kids even came up with their own genius version of forest-school rounders/cricket/baseball. You had to see it to believe it. And, of course, we wrapped things up with an obstacle course that had everyone, big and small, cheering each other across the finish line.

A Huge Thank You 💚

To the kids, you absolutely smashed it. You embraced the rain, soaked up the sun, and brought your kindness, creativity, and full beans energy to the woods. It was a total joy to share it with you.

Here’s to many more muddy, marshmallow-toasty adventures ahead. Who’s in? 😊
