Forest SChool 1 Year Anniversary
A year of Kids Adventurist
What have we learned this year?
Oh, just everything. But perhaps the greatest lesson of all? The best adventures aren’t wrapped up in Instagram-perfect moments (though we do like a good outdoors pic!).
They’re sticky-fingered, mud-splattered, wonderfully messy snapshots of real life. They’re about wobbly kiddo steps on woodland trails, boots that miraculously find everypuddle, and laughter so uncontrollable that even the trees seem to join in. It’s in the chaos that the true magic unfolds, and we’ve loved every second of it.
Is it just us, or has time been sprinting past like a sugar-fueled kid at breakime?
We can hardly believe it ourselves, but Kids Adventurist is officially ONE!
One whole year ago, we sat down with notebooks full of untamed ideas, wild dreams, and enough post-it notes to paper a wall, imagining what this little project might become. From late-night brainstorming sessions to learning the ropes (sometimes literally), to hour upon hour of training, we poured our hearts into this adventure, and what a ride it has been.
Our mission was simple but with purpose. We wanted to turn spending time outside as ”uhh do i have to” to a new perspective of it being a playground of opportunity, helping children and adults to rediscover the joy of adventure. Over the past year, we’ve watched children conquer challenges, learn new skills, and build friendships stronger than most of fort walls built onsite.
The heart of Kids Adventurist has always been about more than exploring trails or climbing trees; it’s about building a community—a mini tribe of dreamers, doers, and adventurers who find joy in turning the ordinary into something extraordinary.
And after a year of shared moments, smiles, and stories, we’re just getting started.
We would’nt have been able to to do this without the endless support of our school community, helping us build a forest school space from the ground up, to the children that return week after week, term after term at our holiday clubs and mini adventure sessions.
Thank you from the bottom of our marshmallow filled hearts, for believing in us and for making the Kids Adventurist dream a reality.
We have some exciting plans for our second year at Kids Adventurist including overnight camps, micro hikes, a couple of birthday parties, corporate sessions and more that we can’t quite talk about yet… it’s going to be amazing!
So thank you for all of your support and we hope you have a Happy Easter.
